A new Downtown campus has been a vision of Monroe Community College Damon Campus for over 20 years. The acquisition and conversion of a property previously owned by Eastman Kodak Company, previously Rochester’s largest employer allowed MCC to realize this vision. As construction advanced, the thought of relocating 280,000 square feet of space became daunting. The architect and college reached out to us for assistance with this enormous undertaking. Vargas Associates prepared an implementation plan to support the relocation of classrooms and operations to the new campus including some off-site operations that were brought to the new site. After completing a bid for moving services we coordinated with the mover on a phasing plan that enabled both the relocation of contents and the decommissioning of assets from the old location prior to lease expiration.
