The University of Rochester requested our Furniture Coordination Services to conduct a furniture inventory of twelve departments which were designated for relocation into a newly constructed Pediatric Replacement and Imaging Science Modernization (PRISM) building. To help the university minimize their expenditures on new furniture, we examined their existing furnishings, which were spread out over several buildings among the University’s wide campus. We gathered information on each office, open area cubicle, lab, conference room and support area for each department slated to move. Our documentation included the age of the furniture, color, size, and condition. In all, 4,500 items were inventoried and summarized in a project binder consisting of detailed spreadsheets, visual photos and a summary of the findings, enabling them to proceed with the allocation of furniture in the new building layout.
